Six men have been arrested in connection with a cash machine raid at a Co-op where the bomb squad had to be called.

Detectives probing the theft from the Faversham Road store in Ashford arrested two men aged 27 and 30 at the eastern docks of the Port of Dover yesterday.

Four other men - aged 37, 21, 24 and 22 - were arrested at a property in the Kingsnorth area of Ashford on the same day.

It is believed thieves used explosives to damage an ATM and the bomb disposal team was called in to help safely remove it.

A quantity of cash was stolen from the machine.
