Toyota Celica seized at Esso petrol station in Ashford after driver found with no insurance

A driver who was just about to fill up at an Ashford petrol station ended up having to walk home after police seized his car.

The motorist was stopped in the Esso forecourt in Hythe Road, Willesborough, for not having his Toyota Celica insured.

The car was seized by police in Hythe Road

Upon seeing officers passing in a police car earlier, the Toyota driver was was spied gingerly pulling off a driveway.

The reason for the hesitation was due to having no insurance.

A tweet posted by the Kent Police Ashford account stated: "#AshfordCPT saw this car hesitating from pulling off its driveway on seeing their police car.

"Now officers know why...no insurance.

"At least he saved himself a tank of fuel as officers stopped him on the forecourt when he was just about to. Vehicle seized."
