THOUSANDS of pounds is thought to have been stolen in an armed raid on a restaurant in Kent.

Staff were tied up and threatened at French Connection, a Brewers Fayre restaurant, in Hall Avenue on Ashford's Orbital Park estate. The robbers then stole cash from the tills.

Kent Police say the robbery took place around 10pm on Monday.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident and police are appealing for witnesses.
