Drivers are faced with further delays as town centre congestion builds up again.

Public transport services have been affected again thanks to more heavy traffic in Kimberley Way - near the Ashford Designer Outlet and Asda supermarket.

Stagecoach warned its passengers they faced 15-minute delays on the 2, 2A, B and A line services after being forced to cancel a service altogether yesterday.

Drivers say the traffic is worse than ever

A Stagecoach spokesman said occasionally the company has to 'reposition' services due to delays.

He said: "I have to say that this is something that commonly happens from time to time across any urban bus network with a frequent service.

"Although we can take operational decisions that help manage bus flow during periods of congestion, we’re also calling on local authorities to take action to tackle this growing problem.

"Faster and more reliable bus journeys, fewer cars, and less pollution is better for everyone in our community.

"On our part we’ll be investing in a brand new fleet of buses for Ashford in the coming weeks which will operate on new super-high frequency routes with ultra-convenient ticket options."

The heavy traffic is partially due to the new barriers that have recently been installed at International Station.
