Man suspected of drug driving hits police car on Ashford's Station Road

Police have arrested a driver who smashed into a police car after ignoring signals to pull over.

Officers were at the scene in Station Road in Ashford after the 29-year-old driver finally stopped shortly before 11am.

Officers could be seen searching the car's boot following the Station Road collision

Police were seen searching the boot of the black Renault Clio, which is suspected to have been stolen.

A police spokesman said: "A 29-year-old man from south London was arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and drug driving and remains in custody.

"Inquiries remain ongoing."
