Police were called to a service station this morning after a group of suspected illegal immigrants were spotted running from a lorry park.

Officers searched the area near Stop 24, at junction 11 of the M20, around 9am.

Four men have been detained and transferred to the Home Office Immigration Enforcement.

The proposed lorry park would be near Stop24 Services and lorry park Junction 11, M20

An onlooker, who asked not to named, said: "I was driving from Folkestone to Ashford and I saw five men running from the lorry park.

"They jumped over the fence, they must have jumped out of a lorry.

"I saw four of them hand themselves in to the roadworkers, but one of them went the other way and headed towards Folkestone."

The Home Office has been approached for a comment.
