A teenage girl has been injured after being assaulted by three people.

Police are investigating after the teen was attacked in Ashford High Street.

The assault took place by the fountain in the High Street

Officers were called after the victim, in her late teens, was injured during the attack by a man and two women near the fountain, next to Sports Direct.

She was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for treatment for head injuries following the incident, which took place around 4am on Saturday, May 28.

A 27-year-old woman and a 21-year-old woman from the Ashford area, and a 21-year-old man from London, were arrested the same night on suspicion of assault.

They have since been bailed pending further enquiries, and police are urging witnesses to come forward to aid in their investigation.

In particular, they would like to speak to members of the public who attempted to intervene in the assault and who assisted the victim following the incident.

The fountain lies next door to Sports Direct
