Tufton Street in Ashford partially closed off amid emergency response

A town centre has been partially closed off as emergency services respond to an incident.

Tufton Street in Ashford is taped off between Bank Street and Church Road with police, ambulances and fire trucks all in attendance.

A passer-by said he believed he could see a man standing on the edge of Tufton House.

It comes after police closed Tufton Street, between the junctions for Bank Street and Church Road, last week amid concern for the welfare of a man.

Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue and the South East Coast Ambulance services have been approached for comment on today’s incident.
