Two arrests and woman charged after police stop Toyota Yaris near Conningbrook Hotel in Ashford

Two people were arrested after police swarmed a car on a busy road.

Officers stopped a black Toyota Yaris in Willesborough Road, Ashford, and detained two of its occupants.

They swooped on the car at 4.15pm near to the Downsview Guest house, just past the Conningbrook Hotel.

A 39-year-old woman and 51-year-old man, both from Ashford, were arrested.

Louise Ashdown has since been charged with driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

She has been bailed to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court in August.

Meanwhile, the arrested man was released without charge.
