Two men arrested on suspicion of assault after Folkestone man Gary Langham found lying in Bower Road, Mersham with serious head injuries

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a Folkestone man was found lying in a road with serious head injuries.

Gary Langham, who is in his 40s, was discovered in Bower Road, Mersham by a tractor driver at around 7am on Sunday, August 23.

He was rushed to King’s College Hospital, in London, where he is remains in a serious condition.

His injuries were initially thought to have been suffered following a hit and run.

Yesterday, police arrested a 21-year-old man from Ashford and a 22-year-old man from Maidstone on suspicion of assault.

They have both been released on police bail until October 16 while inquiries continue.

Shortly after the incident, police launched an appeal for information.

The man was discovered in a road in Mersham

Days later a 21-year-old from Mersham was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He is still on police bail until September 23.
