Two swimming pools and the flume rides at the Stour Centre will be closed for three months, it has been revealed.

Ashford Leisure Trust chief executive Emma Wood confirmed that the closures would be longer than first expected.

She said: "I can confirm that the pools will be closed for repair works and our estimate at the moment is for a period of about 12 weeks."

Two swimming pools at the £17 million centre closed earlier this week because of cracks in the tiles.

Ashford Leisure Trust, which manages the centre, said information about the re-opening of the pools would be posted on their website www.thestourcentre.co.uk as soon as it was available.
