The Met Office issues yellow weather warning for dense and freezing fog across Kent

A yellow weather warning for dense and freezing fog has been issued across Kent.

It was introduced by The Met Office as visibility is expected to dip below 100 metres in some locations.

Disruption to travel is likely bringing slower journey times and possible hazardous driving conditions, with delays to bus and train services also expected.

It adds some flights might also be cancelled for those travelling to airports.

The warning was introduced at 7pm on Monday and will remain in place through the night, with the Met Office predicting it will be lifted at noon today (Tuesday).

The fog will lift into low cloud, though a few spots may stay foggy into the afternoon.

The warning covers most of the south and south east, and extends to the midlands and the north including York and Hull.
