A medical technology manufacturer has issued a "call to action", saying it can build ventilators for companies that commission them.
Integrated Technologies Ltd, trading as ITL Group Group, is based in Ashford and normally builds and designs cutting edge equipment such as a device that keeps oxygen pumping through donated organs.
However it has now said it has the ability and capacity to build ventilators as and when requests come in from companies.
It's expected that demand for the breathing aids will skyrocket as UK coronavirus cases grow.
Tom Ackrill, ITL's business development manager, said: "We can manufacture ventilators but we're not doing it now.
"The decision is that we can do, if a company that wants to make them comes to us.
"We're willing, able, and we have the room and capacity.
"This is a call to action to say if you need them building, come to us."
Mr Ackrill noted that while large manufacturers like JCB may seem like prime options, they don't yet meet the regulatory requirements to manufacture such high end, precise medical equipment.
The company - founded in 1977 - has worked on more than 500 projects, with work including the design, development and manufacture of medical devices.
