Police are urging witnesses to come forward after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Penshurst yesterday.

The rider, a man in his 50s, was flown to a London hospital after the smash around 11.50am in New Road, just before the junction of Saints Hill.

An ambulance service spokesman said the driver of the Mazda was fully conscious at the scene but was taken to a Pembury hospital for further assessment.

A police spokesman for the force said the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now investigating the circumstances.

They are keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or might have seen the vehicles just beforehand.

Witnesses are asked to call 01622 798538 quoting DS/JW/80/17.
