Hunter Avenue stabbing: Gillian McKenzie charged with attempted murder

Police have charged a woman with attempted murder after a man was stabbed at a house in a quiet residential area.

Officers and paramedics were called to the emergency in Hunter Avenue in the Willesborough area of Ashford at 1.45am on Friday.

They seized a knife from the house, while a 55-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene.

It is believed that the victim was known to the alleged attacker, and police say he has since been discharged from hospital.

Now, 53-year-old Gillian McKenzie, of Hunter Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder.

She appeared before Canterbury magistrates on Saturday, and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Friday, April 21.
