A woman in her 70s has been injured after a tyre smashed her windscreen.

The tyres fell from a lorry on the M20 just before 5pm, between junction 10 and 11, London-bound.

One of the tyres bounced and smashed the windscreen of the woman's Vauxhall Zafira, showering her with glass.

The extent of her injuries is not known.

The woman has been taken to hospital by ambulance, and the vehicles are being recovered.

Queues are building up in the area.
