Leon Camier will make his home Moto GP debut at Silverstone on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Ashford born rider gets his chance after the Aspar team extended role as replacement for injured Nicky Hayden, sidelined with a wrist injury.

Camier registered his first Moto GP point, finishing 15th at Brno in the Czech Republic earlier this month.

Speaking to website Crash.net, Camier said: "I am really happy because we have made continual progress since I jumped on the bike and at Brno we managed to finish in the points. The aim this weekend is to work just as hard again and keep going in the same way,”

“I love Silverstone and I know it perfectly - it is fast, technical and with a lot of direction changes, which should suit me well. I know it will be another tough weekend though so it will be important to stay focused. It is a dream come true for me to race a MotoGP bike in front of the British fans."
