Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley

Neil Cugley says three friendlies in five days next week provide the perfect test for his Folkestone Invicta squad.

The club host Tonbridge on Tuesday, Maidstone on Thursday and Dover on Saturday week.

Boss Cugley said: “All three are important matches as we start to make decisions about players. We will probably look to work with a squad of about 16.”

Defender Chris Elliott is Cugley’s latest signing after he put pen to paper after the 0-0 draw at Deal on Tuesday night.

The former Canterbury City man has impressed Cugley, who said: “He has got a bit of work to do on his fitness but has done well. He is young, looks comfortable on the ball and also has a good long throw.”

Goalkeeper Chris Oladogba stood between Invicta and an even bigger margin of victory than the 4-1 success at FA Vase finalists Tunbridge Wells on Saturday.

Wells led after two minutes but Jake Beecroft equalised and Dane Lutchford, Shane Hamshare and Jimmy Dryden scored the other goals. Former Faversham and Hythe midfielder Dale Skelton was also involved.

Invicta send a side to Southern Counties East League Lordswood on Thursday night (7.45pm)
