Sarah Quinn beat 70 other shooters

British ladies skeet shooting champion Sarah Quinn is still on target for her dream of reaching the 2012 Olympic Games.

Having achieved 100 out of 100 at the Grand Eastern competition in Nottingham, the score of the 28-year-old from Ashford is all the more remarkable because she is only the 15th British woman ever to do so.

Skeet is a form of clay pigeon shooting, and involves aiming for 100 moving targets from different angles.

At the competition last Sunday, Quinn beat 70 other shooters to collect the winner’s trophy to add to her growing collection of accolades.

She said: “I am so pleased that I shot a clear round. It’s a personal best for me and I still can’t quite believe I managed it.

"To be honest, the first feeling was relief. I was completely relieved that I got around and did it all,” said Sarah, who last year narrowly missed out on achieving the perfect round when she shot 99 out of 100 in the World Skeet Shooting Championships.
