The coronavirus shutdown hasn’t stopped the fun for the Hawkinge Hurricanes Running Club.

Each week the club’s coaches have been setting their members a weekly challenge to keep motivation and morale high.

Last week the athletes took up the challenge of running in fancy dress and they didn’t disappoint.

Charlotte Strickland headed out as superwoman while Alive Nunes dressed as Where’s Wally?

Rebecce Moncrieff hit the high notes as Freddie Mercury while on Easter Sunday club lead coach Sam Miller got plenty of attention, dressed as a chicken, for a 4.5 mile run around the village.

Miller works within the NHS and received lots of encouragement during her run.

She said: “As a key worker within the NHS is was a great boost seeing such community spirit.”

The challenges can be completed inside or outside using their one hour exercise time.
