A woman has been arrested on suspicion of trespass and obstructing the railway after emergency services descended on a Kent street.

Police, fire crews and ambulances were spotted in Kemsing Gardens, Canterbury, following a report of a tresspasser on the tracks nearby.

An air ambulance was also spotted flying overhead by residents.

A spokesman from the British Transport Police confirmed they were called to the line just before 8.35am and subsequently made an arrest.

"A woman was arrested for trespass and obstructing the railway," he added.

"The woman sustained non-serious injuries."

An ambulance service spokesman confirmed the person was assessed and treated being taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford by road.
