Attack on elderly woman: two quizzed

A SERIOUS assault on an 83-year-old woman in her home has left her with severe head injuries.

Police were called to a bungalow in Market Way, in the Kingsmead area of Canterbury, yesterday at about 5pm.

The victim was admitted to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital with severe head injuries. Her condition today was described as stable and not considered life-threatening.

A 57-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from East Kent have been arrested and are being questioned regarding the incident.

Two people are currently in custody being questioned at Canterbury police station.
