Thirty firefighters tackle barn blaze in Barham off A2 between Canterbury and Dover

A huge fire has been ripping through a barn in remote countryside near Canterbury this afternoon.

At its peak at just after 11am, six fire crews were tackling the blaze at the farm at Greenhills in Barham, off the A2 between Canterbury and Dover.

It has been sending thick clouds of smoke into the bright sky.

Around 30 firefighters have been using hose reel jets and compressed air foam to tackle the barn, containing baled straw.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire brigade have not yet said what caused the fire and firefighters were still there this afternoon.
