Big interest in international one-dayer at St Lawrence

KENT officials are hoping for a crowd in excess of 5,000 this Sunday when South Africa clash with Zimbabwe in NatWest Triangular Series clash in Canterbury.

The St Lawrence ground will look its best for its third one-day international and the first in Canterbury since the World Cup clash between England and Kenya in 1999.

"We’ve already sold in excess on 4,000 tickets and have room for 8,500 and have the ticket office open on Saturday to meet the late demand," said Kent’s head of marketing Jon Fordham.

"The gates will open at 9am on Sunday for a 10.45am start and people can buy tickets on the day. But to save congestion, we are suggesting they buy in advance.

"The ECB are delighted with our arrangements and with the advanced sales which, considering it’s a neutral game, have outstripped sales at other counties.

"We’d like to think that’s a huge tick in the box for Kent as far as the ECB are concerned."
