A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a crash with a car this morning.

The biker was injured in the collision in Whitstable Road, Canterbury, at about 10.10am.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene, near the junction with Westgate Court Avenue.

There was gridlock on the surrounding roads while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Paramedics took the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment for their injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

All roads had reopened by 11.15am.
