Young woman found dead at house in Aylesham near Canterbury named as Clare Wilmshurst

Clare Wilmshurst, 26, was found dead at home in Aylesham

A woman found dead in her home near Canterbury has been named as Clare Wilmshurst.

It is not yet known what caused the death of the 26-year-old, but police are not treating it as suspicious.

Officers were called to Kings Road in Aylesham at just after 11am on Monday, when her body was found.

Her semi-detached home was cordoned off while police investigated the tragedy.

Following Miss Wilmhurst's death, her brother Paul wrote on Facebook: "RIP big sis I'm going to miss you soo much I will love you forever."

Wellwishers used the social networking site to express their shock and send their condolences, including Demi Megan Rhodes, who said: "Really sorry for your loss, thoughts are with you and family."

Stephanie Louise Baker-Gisby added: "Sorry for your loss babe thoughts are with you and your family! Why do bad things happen to such lovely people?"

The case was referred to the coroner and a post-mortem was carried out yesterday.

Kent Police spokesman Andy Saunders said: "Police were called at 11.08am to reports that a woman had been found dead at a property in Kings Road, Aylesham.

"The woman is believed to have been in her 20s and officers are not treating the death as suspicious.

"The case has been passed to the coroner's office."
