Canterbury remain top in Men’s Conference East despite being held 1-1 at home by Kent rivals Holcombe on Saturday.

The visitors were indebted to debutant keeper Allan Dick - a Scotland international signed from Surbiton last week - who kept his team in the game for the first 15 minutes.

The first half finished goalless, but Canterbury went ahead when Liam Foster scored against his former club from a penalty corner.

Within two minutes, Holcombe were level when a move down the left wing fell to James Kitcherside to equalise.

EuroCanterbury Ladies had an excellent result at Olton & West Warwicks, winning 5-1 in the Midlands to move third, just a point behind their opponents, in the Investec Women's Hockey League Premier Division.

Canterbury were 1-0 at half time through an early goal from Charlotte Craddock. There were further goals from Craddock, Kirsty Chambers (2) and Dilly Newton in the second half, with the hosts scoring a consolation effort through Emma McCabe.
