Canterbury Rugby Club coach Andy Pratt has warned his players that it "won’t get any easier" as they struggle to get to grips with life in National League 2 South.

Last Saturday’s 40-20 defeat at Dings Crusaders was Canterbury’s fourth defeat in their last five matches and their next two opponents are Shelford and Henley, who are second and first in the table.

Pratt (pictured) said: "The disappointing thing is that after winning two of our first three matches, we haven’t really moved on in our last few games.

"We went to Dings wanting to win and it was a game we could have won but it didn’t happen and, as coach, I have got to take some responsibility for that.

"But you are often undermined by individual errors and the guys have been honest, they know that they haven’t been bringing their ‘A’ game to the table.

"We are making some silly mistakes and, with Shelford and Henley coming up, it’s not going to get any easier."

Pratt has been studying the video of the Dings game and it shows that Canterbury had more than enough opportunities to come home from Bristol with a win.

He added: "It’s frustrating but it’s all part of our job to learn from it and come out of it stronger."
