Canterbury fell agonisingly short of their first National League 2 South win of 2011 - despite a second-half comeback, they were edged 27-31 at Henley on Saturday.

After a promising start, in which they twice took the lead, the city club surrendered the initiative in a 13-minute spell either side of half-time which gave Henley three tries.

Up to that point Canterbury were on level terms through a Gert De Kock try and a conversion and penalty goal from Nick Dangerfield.

A yellow card for Matt Robinson signalled the start of a decline in Canterbury's fortunes, with Henley moving 31-10 ahead.

However, Canterbury dominated the rest of the second half and pulled to within four points of the home side with two tries from Robinson, one of which was converted and a touchdown from Peter Kelly.

However, with 14 minutes left to play Henley held on for the win.
