Two hurt after car hits pedestrians near Howletts Wild Animal Park in Bekesbourne near Canterbury

Two people were injured after a car collided with pedestrians close to a wildlife park.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the incident near Howletts Wild Animal Park in Bekesbourne Lane near Canterbury at 2.20pm on Tuesday.

A man was flown to a London hospital, while a woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Bekesbourne Lane following a report of a collision between a car and two pedestrians.

"A man was flown to a London hospital and a woman was taken to a local hospital."
