A LIBERAL Democrat councillor is due in court next week charged with drink driving.

Richard Parkinson, 57, of Best Lane, Canterbury, who represents Westgate Ward in the city, was arrested on February 27.

It followed him failing a roadside breath test in the early hours in Nackington Road, Canterbury.

He is due to appear before Ashford magistrates on Tuesday (April 6).
