Crews search sea after pier jump threat

Emergency crews were called into action after a man threatened to jump off Herne Bay Pier in the early hours of this morning.
Police, coastguard and lifeboat crews raced to the town’s famous landmark after receiving a 999 call at 3.30am.
The stretch of water between the pier and Kings Hall was combed by sea rescue teams before the man was found safe onshore.
