A Derren Brown show at the Marlowe Theatre tonight has been postponed due to transport difficulties.

The illusionist was meant to be bamboozling crowds at the Canterbury venue from 7.30pm, but traffic woes have left organisers with no option but to call off the show.

Trucks used to get the production on the road have had their trips to Kent hugely delayed.

Yesterday's unplanned closure of the A1 and today's closure of the M25 due to a crash has severely held-up progress.

The vehicles have now arrived in Canterbury, but at a far later time than planned.

Therefore, despite production teams "pulling out all the stops", show organisers have decided to cancel tonight's performance, which is part of the Derren Brown: Showman tour.

The show will run at the Marlowe throughout this week, with tonight's performance now put back until Sunday at 2.30pm.

All audience members have been notified of the late postponement, and tickets have been automatically transferred to the same seats.

A statement from the Marlowe reads: "Trucks arrived in Canterbury far later than planned and despite our respective teams pulling out all the stops, it will not be possible to get the show ready to present tonight.

"We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment that this has caused and we very much hope that you can join us for the rescheduled performance this Sunday."

Those who cannot make Sunday's afternoon show, should call the box office on 01227 787787 to arrange a credit voucher or a refund.
