A hit TV show featuring fugitives on the run from a team of surveillance experts reached a dramatic conclusion in Canterbury.

Channel 4's Hunted pitted ordinary people against trained snoops as they aimed to stay ‘off grid’ for six weeks.

Thursday’s finale saw one of four finalists holed up in a terraced cottage in the city centre.

In a nail-biting scene, Emily Dredge made a dash for freedom from the Orchard Street bolt-hole after finding out the hunters were on her tail.

Her mission was to successfully leave British soil from an airport in Surrey – but an informant at the Canterbury address sold her escape details to the hunters for £250.

Another fugitive on the show hailed from Ash, near Canterbury.

Dr Ricky Allen, a locum GP at Dover Medical Centre, was caught earlier in the series.
