You've heard of leaves on the line delaying trains... but it was a stray cow that led to disruption for passengers through Faversham this morning.

The animal escaped from a field and strayed onto the tracks between Faversham and Whitstable.

It happened at about 7am and caused commuter chaos with long delays for Southeastern passengers.

Services are affected. Stock picture.

Many services, including trains to and from St Pancras, suffered disruption because of the roaming animal.

At 9.15am, a Southeastern spokesman said the cow had been moved and services were starting to return to normal.
