A water pumping station caught fire following an electrical fault in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to the pumping station, run by Southern Water, in Old Wives Lees, near Canterbury just after 4.30am.

The fault is not believed to have been caused by last night's thunderstorm, the fire service said.
