Fencing coach on sex assault charge

The senior coach of Canterbury Fencing Club has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl and abusing a position of trust, an offence under the Sexual Offences Act of 2000.
Paul Romang, 57, of Grange Way, Broadstairs, is an international coach who has helped train the British Olympic squad.
He was a former fencing teacher at The Kings School.
Romangis due to appear before Canterbury Magistrates on August 12. Police have said that Kings School pupils are not involved.
