Three years after reality
television catapulted him into the limelight, Ben Mills still
believes the X Factor justifies a place on the Saturday
listings.

Talking on the eve of a new series,
the 29-year-old admits having no regrets about his time on the
show.

He said: "It’s put me where I want
to be. It’s meant I’m making a living out of playing music.

"People know who I am so that when
I do release something, they’re more inclined to go out and buy it
and take it seriously."

Ben, who last month married
long-term partner Melissa and lives in Blean, near Canterbury, was
able to leave behind his marquee business and pursue his musical
dreams under then mentor Sharon Osbourne. But, he admits some
former finalists have been treated better than others after leaving
the show.

He added: "We made the choice to go
on the show and we knew what we were letting ourselves in for.

"Some winners have been treated
really well, while some have just disappeared.

"I definitely think it’s more about
the show now than about finding an act and taking them all the way
through to the end."
