Former theatre manager dies

A FORMER manager of the old Marlowe Theatre at Canterbury who went on to become director of South East Regional Arts, has died.
Peter Carpenter worked at the theatre in St Margaret’s Street in the early 1970s but left the city in 1976 to live in Crowborough in East Sussex when he was appointed to the SERA.
He retired to Newton Ferrers, near Plymouth in Devon, where he died. He was 86.
