Four arrested in connection with alleged assault on man on cycle path near River Stour in Chartham

A man was left needing hospital treatment after allegedly being set upon by a group of attackers in Chartham.

Police have arrested four suspects following the reported assault, which happened on a cycle path by the River Stour near the A28 just before 9pm yesterday.

The alleged victim suffered injuries not thought to be life-threatening, and was taken to a local hospital.

Officers were called to the scene and arrested three people. A fourth suspect was arrested yesterday.

Three men, aged 32, 42 and 50, and a 24-year-old woman, all from Canterbury, remain in custody.
