A woman driver has escaped serious injury after overturning her car in a residential street in Canterbury on Saturday night.

The silver hatchback, believed to be an MG, flipped onto its roof in Beaconsfield Road at about 7pm.

Residents went to the aid of the driver while the emergency services were called.

A parked car is thought to have suffered minor damage and the accident prompted debate on social media as to how it could have happened.

The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
