Homes evacuated after gas leak in Littlebourne Road, Canterbury

More than a dozen homes have been evacuated and a main road is closed following a gas leak.

Emergency services were sent to Littlebourne Road, Canterbury, while other surrounding residents are being advised to keep their windows closed.

Engineers from Southern Gas Networks were at the scene together with two fire engines and police.

They say 14 properties were evacuated as a precaution.

This morning (Tuesday) the A257 remained closed in both directions between Warwick Road and St Martin's Hill.
