A man has died after being hit by a train near Canterbury East railway station.

The line is currently closed between the station and Bekesbourne while investigations are carried out.

Replacement buses are being arranged to run between Faversham and Dover Priory. The delays are expected to hit services until at least 9pm.

British Transport Police confirmed a man was pronounced dead at the scene after being hti by a train. The victim has not yet been identified.
