The theft of expensive chickens in Faversham has prompted police to warn poultry owners to step up their security.

The two high value thefts, which police are linking, saw thieves target expensive hens and cockerels in both Boughton and Salters Lane, Faversham.

Five birds were stolen from Boughton on the night of Monday, April 22. They included one La Bresse hen and one Boughton Blue cockerel.

Four days later a further five birds were stolen from a property off Salters Lane.
