Staff at nearly 70 universities across the UK - including the University of Kent - have voted for industrial action over changes to their pensions.
The University and College Union says it will likely lead to a marking boycott and no exams being set.
Talks between the UCU and employers' representatives to try to end the dispute will take place on Wednesday.
The University of Kent has campuses at Canterbury and in Medway.
