A route was shut after a large emergency response to a “medical incident”.

Kingsmead Road in Canterbury near the Riverside complex was blocked yesterday from about 5.20pm but has since reopened.

There were at least four police cars, one ambulance and a critical care unit in attendance.

A spokesman for the force confirmed that officers were there assisting at the scene a medical incident.

The ambulance service has been contacted for comment.
