Lithuanian woman killed in Canterbury named as Loreta Raupiene

Police have named the Lithuanian woman found strangled in a flat in Canterbury last month.

The body of 46-year-old Loreta Raupiene was discovered at a flat in Victoria Road following an incident at Morrisons supermarket in Wincheap on Thursday November 26.

Tomas Uptas of Victoria Road in Canterbury has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm.

The 32-year-old has been remanded in custody after appearing at Canterbury Magistrates on December 3.
