Luke Harvey produced a stunning four-goal show to lead Faversham to a 5-3 success at Worthing on Tuesday night.

The win sets up Ray Turner’s side nicely for Saturday’s trip to fourth-placed Dulwich Hamlet, who won 2-1 at Whitstable on the same evening.

Harvey (pictured) tore Worthing apart with a 17-minute hat-trick early in the second half after the home side had led 2-0 early on and the victory lifted the Lilywhites into third place in the Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Manager Turner said: "Luke was outstanding and, in fact, he could have had five or six because he hit the woodwork a couple of times as well."

But things had looked a little different after Jamie Brotherton scored twice for Worthing in the opening 22 minutes.

Faversham, however, responded quickly when Harvey opened his account two minutes later and then Darren Marsden, who moved to Salters Lane from Folkestone the day before, equalised soon afterwards.

Harvey then took centre stage after half-time and, although Matt Daniel scored a second for Worthing 19 minutes from time, Faversham were already home and dry.

Looking ahead to Saturday's trip to south London, Turner said: "Dulwich are particularly good at home and they have got some experienced players. They are going to be one of the teams who will be up there come the end of the season and so it’s a big test for us."
