One lane of M2 is closed between junction five for Sittingbourne and junction six for Faversham

Two children and an adult are being treated by ambulance crews after the car they were in hit the central reservation on the M2.

Two ambulances and police are still at the scene after the accident around 3.45pm today.

Traffic is now queuing back to junction seven as one lane of the M2 between junction six for Faversham and junction five for Sittingbourne remains closed.

Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said: "Two ambulances were called to the M2 near junction six around 3.30pm.

"The ambulances are still at the scene.

"There are three casualties, including two children, who are all fully conscious but likely to need treatment."
