Martin Spencer, 61, charged after OAP's bones broken in Canterbury M&S

A 61-year-old man has been charged following a robbery that left a woman in her 90s with broken bones.

The victim was shopping in Marks and Spencer in St George's Street, in the centre of Canterbury, at just after 2.30pm on Tuesday, July 31, when she was said to have been targeted.

She fell over during the struggle, suffering broken bones.

Nothing was stolen during the incident, but the victim remains in hospital.

Martin Spencer, of St Peter’s Place in Canterbury, has been charged with robbery.

He remains in custody and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link today.
